Coach Beth, Founder and Head trainer
Coach Beth, brings a wealth of experience and a profound love for the game to her role. Hailing from a storied career as a standout pitcher at North County High School and Edinboro University, her journey in softball has been marked by determination, skill, and a commitment to excellence.
Starting as a freshman at North County High School, Coach Beth quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with on the mound. Known for her powerful arm and strategic pitching, she led her high school team to three state titles in four years, finishing her career with a 61-11 record, and earned All-County and All-Metro accolades for her outstanding performances every year. Her ability to inspire teammates and lead by example made her a natural leader both on and off the field.
Transitioning seamlessly to collegiate softball at Edinboro University, Coach Beth continued to excel. Her collegiate career was highlighted by multiple All-Conference selections and a reputation as one of the top pitchers in the region. In 2009, she led Edinboro softball to their winningest season in school history (26 team wins) which still stands today. Her competitive spirit and dedication to mastering her craft propelled her team to success.
After hanging up her cleats, Coach Beth embarked on a coaching career driven by her passion for the sport and a desire to mentor young athletes. She started her collegiate coaching career at Hunter College, where she lead them to two regular season conference titles (2019 and 2022), helped them become one of the best offenses in Division III softball in 2019 (ranked #1 in Scoring and OBP, ranked #2 in Batting Average, and #17 in Slugging %), and helped them reach the NCAA D3 tournament in 2022. She is currently an Assistant Softball Coach at New York University.
Beyond the diamond, Beth Liav remains actively involved in the community, organizing clinics and workshops to promote youth softball and inspire the next generation of players. Her commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment has earned her the admiration of players, parents, and fellow coaches alike.
Beth Liav's journey from a standout player to a respected coach is a testament to her enduring passion for softball and her dedication to shaping future champions. Her impact on DXM Fastpitch and the broader softball community continues to be felt, as she continues to inspire and empower young athletes to reach for their dreams.
Coach Ryan Henry, Catching and Hitting
Current professional softball player with the New York Rise. Ended her Villanova career top five in school history for career home runs (third). She has power to all fields and led the BIG EAST with 13 home runs during the 2021 season … That year was named a First Team All-BIG EAST selection and a third team NFCA Mideast All-Region honoree. She was selected to the All-BIG EAST Second Team in her graduate season. A career .263/.338/.497 hitter. Three-time Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete, five-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team and eight-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll … Exceptionally well-rounded student-athlete who earned her undergraduate degree in Communication and a Master of Arts in Theaters.
Coach Chelsea, Strength Coach
Chelsea Bommel is a Personal Trainer and Strength Coach who empowers women and young athletes to be strong, bold and unstoppable when it comes to their goals & dreams. With her fitness career beginning in 2015 in New York City, she knows firsthand the hard work and dedication necessary to achieve greatness.
A lifelong athlete, Chelsea started playing sports at the age of 4 - including softball and soccer. Her passion for soccer led her to compete at a high level until her freshman year of high school. Her early exposure to sports and fitness instilled a deep appreciation for maintaining an active lifestyle and what it means to work hard in all areas of your life.
With a background in sports and a deep understanding of the human body, Chelsea is committed to creating a supportive and empowering fitness environment. More than just a trainer, she's a mentor who understands the challenges of perfectionism firsthand. Chelsea emphasizes the importance of combining sports with strength training, highlighting how this approach can help athletes slow down, cultivate a mind-body connection, and boost self-confidence.
Outside of the gym, Chelsea lives an active life including hiking, adventures & new experiences, and spending quality time with her family. Her dedication to her craft and her commitment to her clients make her a powerful role model for young athletes.
Jackson Yeh, DXM Data Analytics Specialist
With a passion for uncovering actionable insights from complex data sets, Jackson Yeh will be responsible for monitoring and tracking athlete data trends over time. He will then work with our DXM coaches and trainers to turn the data points into actionable items — helping our athletes achieve their goals faster with our data-driven approach rather than traditional coaching methods.
With degrees and training from Columbia and Harvard, he has 18+ years of hands on experience analyzing, designing, implementing and supporting customized technology solutions for hundreds of companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 corporations across 4 continents.
Yeh, is also a professor at Queens College where he has been teaching for over 17 years.
Leigh Carnwath, DXM Team Registered Dietitian
Leigh Carnwath is the Supervisor of Dietary Services at CalOptima Health PACE in Orange County California, overseeing clinical dietitians and the food service, where she has practiced as a Registered Dietitian for almost 7 years. She obtained her Bachelor of Science at California State University of Long Beach and then started her career in NYC in the upper east side at a Long-Term Care Facility 9 years ago. She has used that base to rapidly progress professionally within the critical niche of healthy aging. Leigh was a former athlete in competitive softball, as a catcher, for travel and high school varsity making all state MVP and traveled on the USA tours team. She currently has taken up a passion of surfing, snowboarding and rock climbing to continue her pursuit of an active lifestyle along with using her Dietitian knowledge to fuel her body with the right nutrients to continue these activities for as long as possible.
